Dr. Ellen Chin
Dr. Ellen Chin earned her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree and her Certification in Acupuncture in 2002 and has been actively practicing for over fifteen years, utilizing a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Prior to Chiropractic school, she earned her Honours Bachelor Degree in Nutrition from the University of Toronto in 1999, graduating with distinction. Throughout her career she has furthered her education completing course work in soft tissue therapy techniques, acupressure, cupping, Thompson technique, Active Release Therapy, Activator method, Graston technique, Kinesio-taping, rehabilitation, golf injury treatment, prenatal and postnatal care, and cranio-sacral therapy. Born and raised in Markham, Ontario, Dr. Chin moved to Uxbridge where she has lived and practised since 2003.
In her teenage years, Dr. Chin volunteered at a rehab clinic in Toronto for patients with cerebral palsy and autism. In this role she witnessed the enormous benefits of chiropractic treatment and acupuncture for a diverse patient population. This experience sparked her passion to pursue a career in health care. Her philosophy embraces addressing the underlying condition with a focus on treating the patient, not the disease.
Dr. Chin believes in a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan which may include a variety of methods including chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques, ergonomic modifications, nutrition counselling, rehabilitation, custom orthotics, laser and acupuncture. She is experienced in prenatal and postnatal care, helping moms-to-be with safe and gentle techniques that can improve mobility and decrease spinal stress during and after pregnancy. She also has experience with pediatrics, working with infants and kids of all ages, helping them develop to their full physical potential through regular chiropractic care.
Outside her professional life, Dr. Chin and her husband enjoy raising their three children. They are both health care professionals who take pride in living and working in the wonderful town of Uxbridge. They support a Ghana Health Team Mission that sends an Uxbridge health care team to provide care to remote villages in Ghana, Africa. She also enjoys a variety of activities such as volunteering, outdoor sports, playing instruments and spending time with friends and family.
