Foundation of Your Body
Your feet are the foundation of your body; as you walk, run, and play, they support you and help protect your ankles, knees, hips and/or back from damaging stress. Your feet perform better when all of the muscles, arches, and bones are in their ideal stable positions. When the supportive structure of the foot is compromised, it can result in dysfunction and pain in the feet, knees and back. Custom orthotics can be the solution to enhance the structural support of your feet and eliminate your pain.
Our orthotics are custom made to address your body’s specific needs. While store-bought insoles may bring temporary relief, they are not custom made to your prescription and are not a suitable replacement for a custom made foot orthotic. Custom made orthotics correct your foot abnormalities in order to bring your feet and body into proper alignment and can reduce and eliminate your pain.
Orthotics can be created to suit your comfort and lifestyle. Orthotics are multipurpose and versatile and can fit into a variety of shoe types including running shoes, casual shoes, dress shoes and work boots. If you require an orthotic for a specific activity like running or golf, we can create an insole that suits your needs. Orthotics complement our professionals' treatment by stabilizing and balancing your feet when you stand, walk, and live your active life thereby enhancing your body's performance and efficiency.
Conditions Helped by Orthotics:

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need orthotics?
Not everyone needs custom orthotics. We analyze your foot biomechanics to determine necessity. If you don't need orthotics, we will tell you! If after an examination of your foot we determine that orthotics are required, we will make recommendations for the custom orthotic that is best for you. We always offer a complimentary orthotic assessment to see if custom orthotics are right for you.
What are custom orthotics and how do they work?
Orthotics are made to help correct biomechanical foot problems that can lead to foot, knee, hip or back pain. Orthotics improve one's foot alignment, providing greater structural support and stability.
Orthotics help to reduce pressure points, painful muscle strain, and improper foot mechanics. Through observation and diagnostic tests, we clarify your specific needs. Then we take precise impressions of your feet which become the basis of your custom orthotic.
Will my foot problems be cured?
Orthotics control the motion and position of your feet to return your feet to a healthier position. This helps to reduce, prevent, and eliminate pain and hinders further abnormalities from developing. Orthotics cannot change the anatomical structure of your foot but will improve the support and stability of your feet. You’ll need to wear orthotics for as long as you want to avoid discomfort.
Do I need special orthotics for sports?
Your orthotics will be sufficient for most sports activities. Sports like running, basketball, high impact aerobics, tennis, racquet sports, and golf all involve considerable ground impact and require orthotics designed for athletic activities. These sport specific orthotics are made from more resilient materials and are more shock-absorbent.
What kind of shoes do I need to wear with orthotics?
Orthotics are very versatile and will fit most of the shoes you already own. For optimal results, your Chiropractor will discuss the best footwear options for your specific needs. Orthotics can be constructed to fit into most shoe types.
What is the difference between store-bought insoles and orthotics?
The store-bought gel and fabric insoles are merely extra padding under your feet. They do not properly support the structure of your feet. Custom orthotics are made to your specific needs and address the unique structure of your feet and body. Custom orthotics last much longer and have extensive quality control tests done on them before they ever reach you so you can be assured of a quality product designed specifically for you.
How long does it take to get used to Custom Orthotics?
You should anticipate a 2 week trial period where your body gets used to your new orthotics. Most patients feel almost immediate relief when they receive their orthotics. Everyone is different. Talk to your chiropractor if you have any concerns.
I have been wearing my orthotics for a few days now and I am experiencing some pain in my legs and feet. Is this normal?
Although uncommon, some patients may experience some mild discomfort when they transition to orthotics. Orthotics help to align your feet and when making modifications to the support of your foot, occasionally soreness will occur. Discomfort will usually disappear in two to three weeks as your body adapts to the orthotics. If pain persists, please speak to your chiropractor.
How long will a pair of orthotics last?
If they are worn daily they should last approximately two years. If you have multiple pairs or alternate your orthotics they can last up to 5 years.
How long until I get my orthotics?
After they are ordered it should only take about a week or so for them to be ready for pickup at the office. We will ensure that the orthotics fit perfectly.
Is there a warranty on custom orthotics?
Yes! There is a 90-day comfort guarantee with all of our orthotics. We have a greater than 98% patient satisfaction rate with custom orthotics. Your comfort is guaranteed!
Do insurance plans cover custom orthotics?
Most workplace health care plans cover custom orthotics. Contact your insurance provider and get a written copy of what documentation is required for you to complete your insurance claim. Our staff will gladly assist you with any questions regarding insurance reimbursement.
For those who hold their phone between their shoulder and ear - please don't do that! But if you have done so in the past, and your neck is constantly sore, you are in good hands with Dr. Dennis Milenov. We had a thorough and complete discussion, and Dennis asked many questions about my situation. He diagnosed the condition accurately, advised a treatment regimen of massage and chiropractic, and he treated me to a successful conclusion in a reasonable amount of time. It is a few weeks past my treatment and all continues to be well! Thanks Dennis! G.M.
